Haha. So true. Isn’t it amazing how so many Indians spend manhours, dollars and rupees in debating, discussing, betting upon this game? Of course, I enjoy India’s victory, but I cannot fathom its fascination.
I like watching cricket in person or in TV. Actually, we traveled to England and India to see a few world cup matches. I love a good exciting game. However, what the fanatic fans (especially Indians and Pakistanis) want is a one sided game. For example, most Indians want India to bat and score 600 for no loss and Pakistan to bat and Zero all out. The Pakistanis want vice versa. That is not an exciting match.
Let me tell you what an exciting match is. New Zealand vs South Africa yesterday (Semi Final of 2015 T20), That is an exciting match.
I know, India-Pak is more war than match. And with people from both armies baying for blood, it often evokes the sharpest reactions.
I only went to the stadium once, when it was Tendulkar’s last match. Otherwise, I prefer seeing it from comforts of home. You can switch off when it gets boring.
I saw highlights of NZ-SA match, was quite good. FIngers crossed for today’s D-Day!
I know your heart was with India. I am very sorry. I do not care who win or who lose. All I want to see is an exciting game. This one was not an exciting game.
I distance myself from unpleasant memories pretty quick – must be a deeply ingrained self defense mechanism. WC 2015 is already erased from my mind.
Like I said, its not cricket that entices me as a game, it was more the pleasure of rejoicing with family & friends at a common source of joy.
You are right- it turned out to be quite a one-sided game. Wish they had fought back better.
Anyways, there’s always the next time.
Dr. Sweety;
I truly appreciate your all-rounder personality;
Because; in writing you are as good as Sachin Tendulkar; always reliable and deliver the goods on timely manner without being arrogant.
In image section; you are as good as Virat Kohli; always stylish yet well withing the control.
Overall; you are like Mahendra Singh Dhoni; possesses each and every skill which needed to be a successful writer, blogger and good friend.
Wishing you all the best………………….
Wow- quite a sixer comparison! Thank you for the profuse praise, Swajith. I’ll do my best to continue the good work. It always feels good to be appreciated.
Dr. Sweety;
You deserve it; because, I read your many posts and it is indeed enjoyable experience to read it.
Keep it up the good work you are doing.
Thanks for your visit, reading and comment on my recent post; I truly appreciate your this wonderful friendly gesture.

Hi Vashti. Thank you so much. I’m so weary of Indians going on & on about cricket mania. There really are better topics in life. Hence the nasty little jibe from me into Haiku world.
Million dollars at stake
For the men in blue.
Million worries await
For those poor fans.

Sorry for the typo. Yesterday’s New Zealand vs South Africa is not T20).

I know! Its crazy beyond belief. They bunk work to watch a match – then they abuse the same team for not doing their job well. Talk of humbugs!
