Arjun

 Synopsis:

I knew there was nothing poetic about death.
I knew not that the most horrific battles are fought off the battlefield.

Arjun: The idealist in a non-ideal world; the warrior whose deadliest opponent was his conscience.
History forgot his voice, but misquoted his silence.

My self-esteem originates from me and ends in me.
Why does your honor depend on me? Find your own.

Draupadi: The untamed tigress, the fragrant flame, the unbridled spirit.

Power does not justify sin. Power is not virtue.
Virtue is that which lasts in spite of power.

Krishn : The enigma whose unique ideology churned the battlefield into a quest for Truth.

The Missile …The Trajectory … The Vision.
The trio that makes for the core of The Mahabharata.

This is their saga.

Explore Mahabharata in the voices & through the eyes of Arjun & Draupadi.
Note – Draupadi’s narrative is denoted by *** symbol.

Find ‘other’ famous Arjuns; compare Arjun vis-a-vis Achilles and Alexander; Explore Myths of Mahabharata.
Come, join the exhilarating journey into Arjun’s inner demons, dark desires and forbidden passions.

  4. Hi Sweety,

Arjun is quite an interesting and challenging character to write about! Held in high esteem, I have never really thought that he could be explored further. Yes, I would like to join this thrilling journey.

Thanks for sharing and visiting my blog otherwise I would have never known.

    • Hello
Thanx! If you read fiction and analysis in recent times, Arjun is misinterpreted, bad mouthed, trampled upon and distorted 99% times. It’s like a collective conspiracy against ability and goodness.
Hope I do justice to him. Do let me know if you review books on your blog, and I’ll try my best to courier you a copy (within India, of course!)

      • So far I haven’t done any reviews but I would love to do so, whenever offered. I don’t live in India any more. You have to find other means to send me your book. What about the pdf file?
        Thanks for the offer Sweety.

        • Oh, I see. Yes, publisher is creating an e-book. I will find out what format is used- whether pdf or ePub. You have the means for e-book reading? I still belong to ‘old school of thought’- the paperback version.

Maam, I have one question. I am very excited to read a book about Arjun. He is my hero and my favourite character. And people hardly write about him. I am waiting to buy your book. But my question is,
You mentioned Draupadi in the synopsis. And said she was the love of Arjun’s life. But what about his other wives, Subhadra, Chitrangada etc. Will they not be in your book? I am always excited about Arjun Subhadra, hence asked.

  9. Congratulations on the upcoming publication of your book of stories. The few that you let me read were so good it’s a wonder they weren’t snatched up sooner. Your voice is bright and new in a way that is not self-conscious. After all the work you put in on this volume, it looks like you will finally be recognized. If there is any justice, the success of your book will keep you going well beyond the second, and third.
    Regards,

    • Such lovely words- I’m floating high! I wish (and hope) that book reviewers will concur with your sentiments.
Btw, it’s not a collection of stories – it is an entire novel. The short blog posts sub-classified under Arjun category are ‘about’ book. They do not find a place within the book.
I’m writing those to delineate my journey along the entire process. Rejections, inspirations, book cover design ideas etc will all fit in here.
