Arjun

 Synopsis:

I knew there was nothing poetic about death.
I knew not that the most horrific battles are fought off the battlefield.

Arjun: The idealist in a non-ideal world; the warrior whose deadliest opponent was his conscience.
History forgot his voice, but misquoted his silence.

My self-esteem originates from me and ends in me.
Why does your honor depend on me? Find your own.

Draupadi: The untamed tigress, the fragrant flame, the unbridled spirit.

Power does not justify sin. Power is not virtue.
Virtue is that which lasts in spite of power.

Krishn : The enigma whose unique ideology churned the battlefield into a quest for Truth.

The Missile …The Trajectory … The Vision.
The trio that makes for the core of The Mahabharata.

This is their saga.

Explore Mahabharata in the voices & through the eyes of Arjun & Draupadi.
Note – Draupadi’s narrative is denoted by *** symbol.

Find ‘other’ famous Arjuns; compare Arjun vis-a-vis Achilles and Alexander; Explore Myths of Mahabharata.
Come, join the exhilarating journey into Arjun’s inner demons, dark desires and forbidden passions.

    • Hi Anita, yes indeed. His life has so much to offer the discerning observer. He has been a positive influence on me ever since I can remember.
I felt, in recent times that too much space & time was being devoted to glorify villains- and by default, in vilifying heroes. This is my effort to restore glory where it rightfully belongs.
Thank you so much for your wishes!

  6. Congrats!!! This is always a wonderful achievement to see the book out in the world.

Indeed it is an exciting time to be in with the release of book, as I have personally gone through the experience, we keep getting so many feedback and each of these inputs just keeps us growing as a writer.

It is like nurturing our baby and after so much of grooming and guidance and training we allow the baby to face the harsh real world where the readers and onlookers have so many different perspectives, and different categories of readers and critiques with their unique way of looking and analyzing stories…each perspective may not be to our liking but each of them add different dimensions to our understanding and appreciation of stories we have conceptualized…

I am sure it will be beautiful story and will tantalize the readers like me to look for more and yes, looking forward to it…

Best wishes for the grand success of the book…

    • Hi Nihar, you have exactly captured in words my emotions at the moment. Yes, indeed I feel like an overprotective mother, who finds her child perfect, and wishes wistfully that the big, bad world loves it as much as she does!

Did you say you have gone through this process? Ah, so I am in the company of a co-author! Let me scan through your blog again in search of your books.
Lastly, thank you for your best wishes. The initial book reviews on Goodreads and Amazon have been quite encouraging. Looking forward to such positive responses from a growing (hopefully) audience.

      • I am sure your book will be great success, sometimes as author after doing all the hard work we neglect or become reluctant to market our book which is equally important in today’s world…a good marketing can make the book fly and inherently we as writer are not always aware of the nuances of marketing that clicks…
I am sure you must have taken care of it…social media marketing does help a lot and close friends and family member does the initial impetus which is much needed…

        Best Wishes!!!

        • Thank you! I wish authors did not have to spend brains in marketing! But if wishes were horses….
Anyway, The Publisher sent me a huge marketing strategy plan, of which 99% was dumped on author’s head. Seems like they extend their heartiest support to pre-existing best sellers. Seems pretty counter-productive to me, but I guess they have a company to run as well.

So, I’m discovering my own ways. Have made FB page, making memes on Twitter etc.
I liked your tactic, of taking photos of various people reading the book – much better a visual impact than mere words!
Will try Giveaways too, but the financial investments just keep piling up. Will try my best, though.

  7. Hey, many congratulations for this achievement.

    You did it!!

Oh, it must have been such a release. I will buy it on Kindle soon. The subject is compelling because we don’t know much of Arjun other than that he’s with Krishn — whose overwhelming presence has not given Arjun his due.

    Great!!!

    • Yes, indeed the ‘release’ is quite a ‘release’! Thank you so much for the boost and support.
I totally agree on Krishn’s eclipsing presence. But hopefully my Arjun (and my Draupadi) are stand-alone personas.

Just a warning point – Draupadi’s narration is marked by *** symbol while Arjun’s narration is without any icons. I quite overlooked mentioning this somewhere in my book intro, and got a few feedbacks about the confusion.
So I’m trying to personally convey the same and avoid further confusion.

    • Thank you! It does feel like a giant joy. Book is available on Amazon, Flipkart, Infibeam etc. Are you comfortable with online purchase? Bookstores may take some time, with the Publisher-Bookstore ongoing logistics.
