Synopsis:
I knew there was nothing poetic about death.
I knew not that the most horrific battles are fought off the battlefield.
Arjun: The idealist in a non-ideal world; the warrior whose deadliest opponent was his conscience.
History forgot his voice, but misquoted his silence.
My self-esteem originates from me and ends in me.
Why does your honor depend on me? Find your own.
Draupadi: The untamed tigress, the fragrant flame, the unbridled spirit.
Power does not justify sin. Power is not virtue.
Virtue is that which lasts in spite of power.
Krishn : The enigma whose unique ideology churned the battlefield into a quest for Truth.
The Missile …The Trajectory … The Vision.
The trio that makes for the core of The Mahabharata.
This is their saga.
Explore Mahabharata in the voices & through the eyes of Arjun & Draupadi.
Note – Draupadi’s narrative is denoted by *** symbol.
Find ‘other’ famous Arjuns; compare Arjun vis-a-vis Achilles and Alexander; Explore Myths of Mahabharata.
Come, join the exhilarating journey into Arjun’s inner demons, dark desires and forbidden passions.

There has been nothing less than an explosion of interest in the spiritual ideal of enlightenment in the Western world over the last ten years. In spring 2009, for instance, twenty million people tuned in to listen to Eckhart Tolle and Oprah Winfrey’s ten-week Gita online course about enlightenment. Spiritual titles top the bestseller lists, and what were once considered to be esoteric Indian spiritual disciplines have become common pursuits.

Yes, Gita is beyond religion or geographical boundaries. I call it a lifestyle mantra – b’cos it has so many practical applications. My colleague and I were undergoing a particularly harrowing professional phase last year – and believe me, B. Gita altered my whole approach to the problem and made life fighteable and deal-able.

Thanks for dropping by my site. Yours is cool. I like the idea of butterflies and colorful thoughts zooming through the mind. Did you read Hawthorne’s “Rappachini’s Daughter”? Nice play on butterfly-as-soul motif.

The book is not done. A few people know I throw out a chapter here and there to test. We’ll see if I make it. . . . It’s tough out there. ; 0

Oh, you stay out of India? I guess Kindle is a safer bet, in that case. At any rate, you can taste a sample via ‘Look Inside’ excerpt on Amazon.
Does Uread deliver to you? Try this link: http://www.uread.com/book/arjun-drshinde-sweety/9789381836972
If that doesn’t work, I’ll patiently wait till December.

The challenges faced by characters from Mahabharat can easily be mapped to our present lives.

Yes, that’s the genius of Vyas. If we disregard the miracles, curses and boons flying around, then the raw emotions of his characters remain relatable and relevant today. And of course, offers a choice of emulating / worshipping / learning from/ learning how-not-to from multiple angles.

Sorry for the delay, I wasn’t getting any backup support from Publisher about the trip. Besides, I’m due to be out of India for 4 weeks in July-Aug. Isn’t that the same time period for the author meet?
Let me know developments or changes in itinerary, if any. I’ll try my best to create space and funds, for Arjun’s sake.
Thank you so much for the reminder.

Oooh. It gives me a high of elation and a sliver of fear every time a reader does that. I’ve got good and bad reviews – yet every single one feels so unique. Thank you so much. Awaiting your verdict.

No no please don’t be tensed. I haven’t read so much mythology or seen The Mahabharat fully but I am very sure you have done justice to the book. I will be reading soon 😊

No, not tense. But excited every time I get a response. Irrespective of positive or negative, its nice to get a feedback – more so if its a constructive feedback that I can incorporate next time in my writing. Cheers!

It is really gripping. I have never read mythology before but reading the first few pages kept me hooked. The preface is excellent. Esp the ideas of helicopters and all the realities now described at that point. I am still reading the file but I must congratulate you 😇

Hi, wonderful to have you drop by. Response is mostly heartening (in terms of book reviews). I wish the Publishers put in more muscle in terms of marketing, Lit fests, ads. After all, a debutante author has only so much marketing reach and skills.
Take your time. Its worth it! 🙂
